My cheap 3rd & 4th Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver Xmas ornaments!!

Hey:) I know I don't post much anymore.....but I just wanted to share my $8 worth of sharpies and dry-erase markers turned Sonic.

I'm doing a Doctor Who tree this year. Already spent nearly $400 on ornaments (Yeah, that got away from me), Tardis lights, and other assorted nonsense. I've been a fan since the new series started in 2005, and after trying to get my wife to watch it- and getting the "I'm not interested"- she's more obsessed than ME!:lol Her car is covered in decals, the Tardis cookie jar in the kitchen is hers, the Police Call Box sign over the doorway, even her "Hello Sweetie" ringtone.:lol So this year, I decided I'm going to surprise her with a Doctor Who tree:)

Below is a more-or-less tutorial. Ignore the blue hi-liter....AND the yellow ones. I opted not to use those. The 2nd and 3rd pics show what was actually used for one Sonic. And some of the parts fit inside others for added strength. I used epoxy to glue everything.

These are the ornaments so far. Not shown, are the misc Daleks, a bow tie, a couple keychains, the 10th and 11th Doctors sonics, Tardis key, Yale key, and "Van Gogh" exploding Tardis throw rug for under the tree.

But I wanted the earlier Sonics, too. Just couldn't find an ornament-sized version of them.

Thank you:) I did touch up the red and yellow on Doctor #3's Sonic. But I was in such a hurry to take pics....;)

I'll add some more black to both of them, and spiral pinstriping tape on the yellow section. But for now, it's break time. They probably took a total of 3-4 hours to make. Maybe less, but I forgot to count.lol

Fantastic! Very inventive. I too recently got my wife into watching Dr. Who and she's hooked now too! Are those the Daleks from Think Geek? Was thinking of getting a couple for my tree too.

Oh and hi neighboor, East Haven resident here lol.

Thanks.:) Yes, those are the Daleks (and almost everything else) from Think Geek. Well worth the money, and got here in like two days.

Hello neighbor!:lol

I finished detailing and somewhat weathering my two Sonics. Not bad.:) And the two other Sonic flashlights got here! I didn't realize the sizes would be so close.:lol Almost to scale!

.......And a Tardis key I machined at work. Because I had to. Because I'm a nerd. Not accurate, but good enough for my Christmas trees and my keychain.
