My Superboy-PRIME armor WIP

Hey folks I first off wanted to share my Superboy PRIME armor from this past dragon con . Many thanks to Brin for putting this together for me. A dream costume I have ever so wanted to try. NOW TO STEP IT UP!


Im going to add lighting to the tubes and I might replace these. I wanted to know if the lights I found from this link would work and if I can safely use it portably with a costume. Anyone have experience with this? I think it would be perfect!

UPDATE 5/8/14: I got a suggestion for a better tubing that is listed in the 2nd reply, I plan to keep everyone posted and use the same thread.

The armor looks great, but you'll have to look at something else for the light tubes. You'll never be able to safely carry around a battery to power it at 120volts, that's the same kind of power that runs a house. Look for something that takes 12volts or less.

50 LED Rope Light 23FT [50 LED Rope] battery powered and you can easily hide the power supply under your belt somewhere.

That link is a great help! I immediately bookmarked that. I looked into what you said and yeah thats too many volts. I can easily keep the battery pack(s, might get more than one) behind the suit under the cape. I do have plans to upgrade the cape into something more longer and tattered but still managable. Sort of like spawn but still trying to keep it from touching the ground as much.

Saved the bookmark and I'm in the midst of shopping for a transparent/clear tubing to use that can hold the led tubing. I plan to add more actual tubing to the arm sections and legs as i feel it would better the look for everything. I'll post more info after I make a couple purchases and test everything out.
