Mystery Graflex

RPF!
I found this at a vintage shop for $25 and I of course couldn't help myself. However, I can't find out what this actually is. It has a support clamp and my google searches have shown me some Graflite style ones (like the holiday special saber) but I can't find any with the classic Graflex look. If anyone can help me find out what exactly this I'd love to know. It's a great collection piece and I'm very excited to have it.

If you're interested in using it in a replica, it was used in the Gary Kurtz Vader stunt saber:

AFAIK, it's never seen on-screen but since it came from Kurtz, it's possible it was production-made.

Nice score!!

In my opinion, $25 is the CORRECT price for these. For some reason ebay and the RPF seem to think these should be $75-$125 each but the ACTUAL, CORRECT price for these is $25. Anything higher than $25 and I believe you’ve getting fleeced.

That's fascinating. Cool to know this piece is part of saber history in some way!

lol oh my old thread! I'm of the opinion now they cut a telegraph graflex down for that Kurtz Vader saber.

Still though, running a slave flash unit down to the threaded endcap of the honeywell flash was SO satisfying. It looks so cool! And all I needed was a cylinder of some kind to center the rod

these slave flashes are pretty awesome, and if you don't make a custom saber with it, keep it for the socket, bulb ring and stuff if you get any other flashes with broken parts.
