Need a break from my Iron Man! Making a quick Mjölnir pep for my sanity...

After working on my Iron Man Build for the past several months I was starting to feel a little discouraged about all the work and no finished results so I thought I'd build a quick prop to give myself that feeling of accomplishment.

I found this thread with some really good Mjölnir pep files from member Razgriz31x:

Hammer: http://www.4shared.com/file/HniIMsJ1...azgriz31x.html

Foam Hammer Grip: http://www.4shared.com/file/HxBrtXbI...azgriz31x.html

And got to cutting:

And Assembly:

And fiberglass:

I should have the bulk of the head finished within the week. I plan to use a wooden dowel for the handle and use the foam handle template to cut leather for the grip.

The last step will be to hand sculpt the scroll detail that goes in the recesses and cast copies of it for all 8 of them.

It does feel good to have a finished project on the horizon, the suit is awesome, but the level of detail and the sheer size of the thing can be daunting!

Got a bit more done -fiberglassed the whole inside (had to cut off the top to get inside) and added some wood reinforcements inside to hold the shape. I'll be starting the bondo in the next few days and should be calling the thunder in no time. :p

I've never done pep before. You make this one look easy.

Hey, thanks man. :thumbsup I wouldn't call it easy, but compared to some of the parts of my Iron Man suit this one was a far more simple design. My peps don't all go this smoothly, but I suppose it's like anything else, the more practice you get the easier it gets.

Today's update:
More smoothing, I think the filling stage is about done, now to move on to cleaning up the detail lines and sharpening a few edges / corners.
