Need help with Ven Zallow (TOR) costume

So I have seen a lot of threads or references to making the lighter stuff of the costume (ie. underlayer and cloak) but I haven't seen anything on methods of making the actual armor part of the costume. I am looking for tips from people on how to make the armor part.

I would also be interested in hearing some suggestions for the armored bits. As I am wanting to make a similar cosplay costume for my Jedi Knight Character from SWTOR. So far I think I have the robes down by using these STAR WARS COSTUMES: : A Star Wars Jedi Robe ONLY- Light Brown - Replica Star Wars Costume , as for the armored bits I was thinking about using some strom trooper armor as the base (as it is already made) and shaving/milling it to look like it then duracoating it to the right color. Any thoughts?

I don´t know whether you are still interested in this information, but I´m using fierfek´s pepakura files. I am building a Sith Acolyte armor; it´s similar to the Jedi Knight armor...

I have seen this armor for sale somewhere. Maybe the Clonetroopers forum? I know that at least one maker has done this armor. Sorry I can't be more helpfull.
