Hey all, been a while since I posted, and I'm hoping this is the right spot to stick this. I'd been working on a custom New 52 Earth 2 Val Zod action figure for a buddy of mine. Just got it done tonight and sent him a few pics and he suggested I post it for more people to see. I was going to post on Figure Realm because I figured with an action figure that would be the place to do it. They on the other hand want to charge you $10 to post like I'm buying advertisement space. I wasn't trying to post this to make money, or advertise that I make custom figures. This was actually the first custom I've made that wasn't for my personal collection, I just wanted to show it off because of how good it looked and how hard I worked on it.
Well down own to the figure. It's an Earth 2 Superman as a base figure with a DC classics John Stewart head. I used the boil and pop method to swap the heads. Then I used Testors Model paint for the rest. Testors Gloss Light Brown for the skin tone, Testors Gloss Red for the S Shield, Testors Gloss White for the rest of the S Shield, Cuffs, and Belt. Finally I used Testors Gloss Blue and Gloss Light Blue, mixed until I found the right shade, for the boots and center belt area. Finally the white cape is actually from a DC Direct Dr Light (villain) figure. I trimmed it around the neck area until it fit properly, then it was super glued into place. I also tricked out the package so that it looks like you could have purchased this figure right from the store.
