Upgraded my storage cupboard with the addition of a $10 glass shower door that someone was getting shot of (actually got two at that price!). Also had a broken pc monitor which I gutted and used the guts of as a greeblie/fake recharging unit.

Continuing adventures to celebrate one year of Iron Man ownership. I took part in a Christmas street parade with a few friends as backup. Went great!

I also went to a school fair, and raised $120 collecting donations for the local Children's Hospital in return for posing for photos

Earlier in December I helped out with someone's student film project which was fun :)

I upgraded my display set up by making a set of lights to back light the eyes. I couldnt easily have the normal eye lights lit while on display, as they would drain the batteries. Also, because I chose to 'under light' my eyes, then they dont really look quite right when up close.

Instead I made a quick and dirty board on which I glued a couple of LED arrays, which now, when lit with a 4.8v mains adaptor (old phone charger), light the eyes from behind (inside the helmet). The LEDs are actually the old palm repulsors, which I had upgraded to brighter units. Nice to find a use for the old ones :)

The effect is just what I wanted.

Incidentally, the RT is powered by a 12v LED a mate gave me for free. It runs off the same mains power unit as the lights which light the cabinet, which are also 12v. When on display I take out the battery powered RT that I use, and thread in the 12v LED from behind the mounting cup, then in the front I have a few random round ring/diffusers, which I just stack up in the cavity to give the right sort of look. Perhaps I'll do a better job with this at a later date.
