Painting fiberglass helmet

I’ve just bought the Anovos premium fiberglass first order stormtrooper helmet. I’m looking to paint it to look like Finns helmet with the bloody handprint. Just wondering if anyone has done that and if so what type of paint should I use. I’ve never painted fiberglass before.

I just did one, using the same fiberglass anovos you have. I used heavy body acrylics for the blood and mixed them until I was happy with the color. For the sand weathering I used FW acrylic ink in an airbrush, different browns and tans. Then a couple of splatters of oil paint, thinned with naphtha.

Thanks. I use acrylics with my airbrush. But I’m thinking of just using brushes and sponges to get the desire look. Just deciding if I should use a brush or my actual fingers to do the bloody smear fingers.

Both would be my suggestion. Paint it on first in the area you want it, thinly, and then run your fingers through it. That way you have control of how it looks but you still get the natural look of it as well.
