Now for the Pinkerton envelope!
Alot of the links here are long gone so I thought I would share what I have in the hope it helps others.

First step was to work on the logo.
Any logo I could find online wasn't quite correct in matching the propstore image. So that means some more time in photoshop trying to get this as close as possible to the original

My next step is trying to decipher the text written in pencil..............

Managed to clean up the source image a bit to make the writing a bit clearer and removed the old logo and replace it with my new cleaned up and corrected version.

Now to work on the text.
As much as I would like to know what it says exactly, I can just replicate what is written within photoshop and then copy that to a clean image. It will look the part at the end of the day!

The cutout is an interesting quirk of the Pinkerton envelope. Some say its the window of the envelope but I find that hard to reconcile.

What do you all think?

I don't think so, because the window is made to put the recipient's data, so it wouldn't make sense to have the window and write the data to the side.

And you can see in the photo, the angle is not rounded, is very sharp, probably they cut the missing part because shows a seal, stamp or something not accurate to the movie or to the era.

My conclusion - I dont believe the Pinkerton envelope that is shown in the Propstore video is a window envelope. I think its just a normal envelope that has been cut and folded back on itself.


What we do know is that there is two Pinkerton Envelopes.

1. As seen in the propstore 2010 video - (Very different to the window envelope)
2. The window envelope as seen in Marcus hand as Indy unwraps the diary. Confirmed to be in the archives.

I am going to look at replicating both of these envelopes, even though the window envelope isnt actually in the Diary.

I think I have found the correct stamp for the window version of the pinkerton envelope.
