Pirate Blackbeard hat

Hey all together,
I need some help and hints building this hat from Pirate Blackbeard.
Has anybody any Idea of how the basic patterns could be?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Not sure if this will help, but I know Tandy has a pattern for a leather tricorn hat that you could modify. Actually Capn_Jack_Savvy has a really good tutorial here

Might be a bicorn some Pirates sported those as well

The Tricorn is much different... there are many Tricorn tutorials out there, since you can also use black round wool hats as a basis. But it's hard to find this explixit shape.... (It's a bit like Davy Jones Hat)

The hat would have to be shaped and stiffener added.

It is shaped almost like a large front tricorn but most likely a bicorn as Apollo mentioned.
Take a look at the PotC ride Auctioneers hat as an example.

I was thinking of making it out of foam. With some metal wires glued on at the top to bring it into shape

Might want to try heating it over a dome shape to get the correct curve.

Look at videos on youtube about making pirate hats.
Blocking felt hats, etc...

Getting closer... made a paper-model. I am thinking of making just the outer part of foam and glue it over a black straw-hat.

Basic shape is more like a pear.

Looks like your basic tricorn hat, perhaps a variation. Lots of examples of Blackbeard wearing a tricorn.

Not sure about it. Since it's only faux leather, I'm afraid it could rip

Nearly finished the hat today. I‘m pretty happy with the result. These oval ornaments still need some bronze touch-up, but the overall look is what I have imagined.

I have a small chest with pirate coins and gems. I always likely the pirates and treasure mythology.
