QMX Serenity Prop Info

It was supposed to be Friday -- actually it was supposed to be last Monday, but they put it off to do some more work on the website - -so I'm hoping it's an any-day-now thing.

Don't expect any Firefly props, though. Everything that's been licensed, with three exceptions, has been from Serenity and Universal. (The three exceptions being a Firefly logo t-shirt, the Inkworks card set, and Whedon's between-the-show-and-the-movie comic series, and presumably he can get permission a lot easier than anyone else). Licensed Firefly stuff would have to come through FOX and that doesn't seem to be happening much.

Does anyone know the people behind Qmx? I have sent 2 emails about becoming a retailer for them and got nothing back. I really would like to get in on the ground floor on this. Please PM or email me at gbailey133 @ adelphia.net

Thanks.

One of the principals is Steve Dymszo (hope that I spelled that right), formerly of MR. He's posting under QMX Steve. You might want to try sending him a PM or e-mail asking him to check up on things. I don't remember who the other person was in the interview that was on The Signal (Andy ?), but he did mention that our own Moffeaton is one of their lead prop makers. Congratulations, Jason.

Hey that's cool. Jason does great work.. :thumbsup

I didn't know Steve was involved in QMX, or that he wasn't with MR any longer. Didn't he found that company??

Anyone have a link to the signal interview? I'd love to read it.

The link to the interview is in the first post of this thread.

I'm not sure that you can be considered a true Browncoat without a subscription to this podcast. It's that good. They've had some great interviews (Gina Torres, Morena Baccarin and Adam Baldwin were all featured during Season 1) and lots of really interesting information. I just renewed my subscription (somehow it disappeared from my iTunes system a while back) and every episode just makes me want to go home and watch Firefly or Serenity again.

Thanks. I sent a PM to both of them.

Even though I am not a browncoat, I am a huge fan of Firefly and Serenity.

That was a great interview. Fox really sounds like they want to bury firefly, I guess that figured. :unsure Who owns the license for the Fox sour grapes replica? ;)

But hey, Universal and the prop company sound great. Here is to being jealous of that trip to the firing range..

:angel

:lol

It's not a contradiction for me, maybe I'm a browncoat in spirit? I just mean I havn't officially joined any clubs or associations is all. :angel

A "Browncoat" is just someone who is a big damn fan of the 'Verse.

But you don't have to join something to be one.

Like one can be a Trekkie without having Spock underoos.
