I've got some detailing and touching up to do, but couldn't resist imposing my (almost) finished train over monument valley. Lots of work and refinement on the resin kit, but I'm pleased. Anyone else working on this?

I'm building one, but stalled in the middle of a move. back in the boxes it went. Dreading the pin striping on the wheels

I know some didn't like the design of the time train, but I always did like it and would love a model. So now I see that it is a possibility in the future....
It turned out really great,.

It's a great kit. Resin being resin it's a lot of work and I often rebuilt details in plasticard, rod, brass wire etc rather than clean, fill and straighten the resin parts, I just found that approach more satisfying and I don't have the knack of getting resin pipes and circular parts cast parts sufficiently round!

Your painting skills look well up to the task, it looks a really nice build.

I admit that since the wheels face downwards, I didn't pin stripe the faces of the wheels.

Your stripes look really sharp and straight, do you have any tips/advice?

I used a combination of masking and straight edges and mostly fine line markers.

Thanks man. Looking forward to getting lights into it eventually.
I used Cricut vinyl from the scrapbooking aisle of my local craft store. Cuts really nicely and stays down even after a clear coat.

I'll probably use a paint pen on the wheels.

I've never done anything with resin before. Sounds a bit tricky.
Yes, it can be, sometimes it feels an achievement to simply survive a resin build ! I wouldn't recommend that anyone attempts the train as their first resin kit, find something smaller, simpler and cheaper. If you don't enjoy working with a resin kit, you wouldn't be alone. Best to concentrate on having fun.
