Safe coloring for false teeth?

With the help of a dentist friend's vacuform unit, I have managed to cast my shell teeth in a semi-clear, semi-rigid plastic material, used in dentistry for whitening trays.
This is my first attempt at teeth, the detail cast well, and fit is good.
Would someone be kind enough to advise me on a safe-in-the-mouth coloring for the teeth? I will no doubt also need to experiment a bit to find one which will stick to this particular plastic, but right now I have no starting point for trials.
Thanks and Gratitude, Bill Z.

I may have posted the question in the wrong section, but for interest, the teeth are blocky white buggers, for a Hellboy build.
I will post my failures to date. May be little interest in the topic for now, but one day, someone may be spared similar blunders.
I tried a Kryolan product, Tooth Enamel White, made to paint directly on (real) teeth.
On the plastic cast, it turned out chalky and rough, like the old liquid white-out products. It did cover and stick, tho had little flexibility and flaked out quickly in the mouth.
Tried coating it with chap stick, then again with Un-petroleum, hoping to seal it from moisture. No. These products caused the dry tooth paint to turn gummy and sticky,
and allowed the tooth paint to smear away even quicker.
Next up: white Plasti dip spray. Toxic til cured, then fairly safe , according to the Plasti Dip website:
[h=3]Is Plasti Dip® safe to use on children's toys, animal containment, and/or on kitchen utensils?[/h]Plasti Dip® does not contain any heavy metals, and when completely dry, is considered harmless. However, it is not recommended that it be used on items that may be chewed or inserted into the mouth as it may present a choking hazard.

Well, we shall see how it likes saliva.

Thank you Iggy, a great tutorial, will save this for next time.
Sorry to say, the colored acrylic they use for the fangs will not stick to this type of plastic.
Plasti Dip however, seems to have worked, and given me a flexible, and so far, durable coating.
The finished product, tho, may be too soft, and is making speech difficult.
I may go back and start over-
thanks again, live and learn!
