Seinfeld - Kramer's Coffee Table Book

I know this was mentioned in the prop bookshelf/wishlist but I didn't see anything for Seinfeld here in Paper Props.

So, I was working on it, and it seems like the actual book used in the show was left at the Regis set. (Supposedly from Michael Richards interview)

So I don't think any high res scans are available anywhere, so I used a re-colored marble background and some found fonts (The C needs to be made symmetrical later). Since this (my) version won't ever be close to screen accurate I was going to use some images of coffee tables that were close to those on the cover.

I quickly realized I have no clue about the styles of the tables...so I am taking a long shot to see if anyone can actually identify one or more of the ones on the cover. If not, I will just go with something close but that double table is giving me fits. Anyway, if anyone has some ideas, or some secret site full of high res furniture, let me know. Again, I am not going to worry about screen accurate at this time, since I have too many missing parts. Thanks

I started on the same thing earlier this year. Put it on the backburner for a while but seeing someone else interested has inspired me.

This is as far as I got. I googled coffee table pics and also had no luck so ended up photoshopping new tables out of similar pics.

Also - yours is miles ahead of mine, but if I can help a bit I am looking forward to it!

Cool, received your pm. Will have to send you some stuff but my brains not working well this week coz im sick as a dog.

I based the size of my book on the hard cover version of Dinotopia: The World Beneath. When I took some screenshots from the DVD I immeadiatly thought of this book. Then, when I overlaid the screenshot it seemed to fit well with the measurements and I believe the episode and the book both came out about 1994. Not saying this is definetly the book they used, but I think it's a good fit and looks easy enough to find on eBay. Just make sure its the hard cover.

And of course, once the covers complete, I'm gonna have to make fold out legs.

OK, sweet, I can go with those measurements. I'll pick up that book this week. Glad you found a nice shot of the back... I was thinking full marble with some slits for the legs -- I can show you some ideas I had for hinges.

Get better... and I look forward to working on it with you soon.

Thrillhouse... any idea on the thickness of the hardcover on that book?

Debating if I should get some hinges with small screws or just glue, or maybe something special.

Measures 3mm thick. Looks like the prop in the above photo is about the same. May have to screw through the cover and cut holes in the pages so it closes properly or something - I haven't really thought that far ahead.

Sure, just wondering... I am going to try some experiments myself... I have some really shallow screws, but you are right we probably can make room in the pages

Once you are feeling better PM me the file, and I will work on adding some details to your new designs.

Yeah cool stuff! again, as FensteR said so well. thanks. It's great to have people like FensteR that say thanks. Thanks FensteR!

Did anyone make any progress on this?!?!? I bought the recommended dinosaur book, but was hoping you all (much smarter people than I) could perfect the cover and have instructions on the "legs" of the table... i REALLY wanted to get this one done... any advice? anyone actually finish one?!?!?

Has anyone seen any Vandelay Industries Cards posted in the paper thread? that would be pretty cool, too!
