Initially, I've posted this project in Post pics of your own 3D creations (not purchased) , however, I've been working on it more and have decided to create a separate thread for it.
It's not a prop in any movie, yet, but it is a replica (3D printed) of the real firearm, and I'm hoping it will be an actual prop in some kind of movie, someday.
Designed mostly in TinkerCad, which I have enormous respect for what it can actually do, and it's accuracy for generating STLs, I have to start off with printing the receiver and bolt. I'm designing a 5 round magazine that will feed the fake rounds, and a bolt that will feed the rounds and, when retracted, will eject the rounds.
If this doesn't work, it may be relegated to be a static prop with few moving parts.
Here is a photo of what I'm working off of. 2 metres long.
Pictured, is the partially assembled receiver, and, rounds for comparison, a .50 cal, 14.5x114 (Alligator) and a 20mm used in a Vulcan Cannon.
The test round inserted into the breech.
Still printing out the bolt. The magazine housing will take a full 24 hours, so I may do that on the weekend, so I can monitor it.
