SoCal Prop Party!

Another alternative is to host it at someones apartment complex. I've done this a couple of times in the past, with great success. Lots of condo's and apts in Orange County have "community rooms" that can be rented for 100 to 200 bucks a day. It's usually a more "intimate" environment (and you RPEffers KNOW I love intimacy!!!!!) and can be a bit less hostile. (usually at D&B, there's NUMEROUS non-rpeffers wandering in and out of the room. Can be a mixed bag as far as good or bad) Downside is that there's no cash bar, and tend to be fewer hot chicks and hot moms.

I'm happy to volunteer my complex's community room if you decide to go that route.

Nice. I hadn't thought of the apartment rec room angle. That actually sounds alot better than a D'nB's or whatever. If Matt's offering up his community room, it's freeway close, and easy to get to. (But then there is always a BJ's brewpub within staggerin' distance... hmmmm...)

Hot moms aside, I can bring my own damn bourbon.

Oh, and I've got a wedding to attend the 17th as well... lucky me....

The D&B events are great. But I would not do one unless you have at least 20-25 people committed to the event. If you do a D&B, just make sure you charge enough. Add tax and tip to everyones price. I added a bit more and actually had a couple extra bucks that I gave our waiters as a tip.

Setting up a D&B is not that hard and only required a couple hours prep time. The hard part was getting everyones money! But once we got the cash, we partied like a rock stars!

Hear, hear - on all accounts...

I'd really be interested, but it depends on the date and time.

I'm directing a show that opens the 1st weekend om November and runs Fri and Sat nights and Sun afternoons...but I'll be watching this thread with considerable interest :)

Were definitely rolling in the right direction here, all we need now are just a few more guys to hop on. So far late November and early December looks prime for most here schedule wise.

Depending on the date (please not the first weekend in Nov!!!) and if it's on a Sunday or later in the day on a Sat, I'm there!!! I keep missing these, I've only been able to make it to 1 so far!

Hey if the timing is right, I'll be in SoCal sometime in November. Renting out a prop to a movie production, and wouldn't mind swing by to show it off from NorCal.

I am definately in.

I just got something from dave and busters for free room rental with minimum purchase(s)

I will have to look and see if I saved it or not.

With Matt, Rob and Brandon there... I think it might be time for another Cali trip!!!

If bbabich is going to come, I'm hereby withdrawing my offer to hold it at my appartment complex. To paraphrase Wuhrer: I don't serve his kind 'round here :lol

Is this because I wouldnt let you sleep with my sister??? ;) jk man

I'd be interested. Just need to know when and where and what all makes up a Prop Party? Anything like a LAN party 'cept with props?

I nominate this thread for the "Most ball dropping per thread" category at this year's Golden RPEffy awards.

I dunno about this whole awards thing.

I'm not sure I need to hear Don LaFontaine announce "And here's Matt Munson to give Steven Kirk and Effy!"

:confused

Heh heh!
