While trying to find a suitable material for the trigger that could be molded into shape and still be flexible enough to allow a full range of motion with my hands/wrists, I realised that if the web shooters were activated by a button in Spider-Man’s palm, having a strip connecting the two parts of the device wouldn’t even be necessary; I could simply have a couple of wires leading from the palm pad and connecting to the web shooter.
The sleeves on the t-shirt that I was using as a base layer are a few inches longer than they needed to be; to simultaneously solve this issue and eliminate the need for fingerless gloves (which was the original plan), I instead added thumb holes to each of the sleeves and took in the cuffs slightly so that they would fit snugly over my hands. A magnet attached to the palm of the sleeve keeps the web shooter trigger aligned with my hand and the wires allow a full range of movement.
