Spotchka Recipe

Looks great! I’ve been thinking about a recipe for this since I saw it in season 1. My big idea is that it needs something slightly umami to simulate the fermented krill that they seem to make it from, maybe a seaweed extract or something to that effect. Surely it would be, unique lol.

Ha! That would be unique. I intentionally tried to make mine not taste like seafood. There lots of versions of umami fish sauces in Asian cuisine. There is also a soy sauce from east China brewed with brine shrimp. However I don’t think any of that would go well with blue curaçao. . Maybe just straight up food dye would work.

Oh yeah it’s definitely not for the faint of heart lol, only the whackos looking for as close to real of a taste as possible. Maybe the “special reserve” spotchka for the Life Day party

So one of the fun things about alien stuff is it doesn't have to be the same. Blue space shrimp don't have to taste like terrestrial shrimp. I think it's pretty neat what you were able to make here!

I made a video showing how I made spotchka from The Mandalorian series. I've been working in the recipe for a while and this one is really tasty.

dude this is awesome!! for those who dont drink, do you have any recommendations on what to add instead of alcohol and get the same gown effect?

i seriously want to do this, im going to 3d print some bases for some cheap glasses, and inset a puck light in there to help with the glow

thanks for sharing this, i subscribed!

I was just thinking the same after finding a UV puck. I was hoping to use a CN tower whiskey bottle, but lost out on it. I’ll have to keep looking or try and find an alternative funky looking bottle to use.

I could just use a standard demijohn with a net I suppose.

Sorry, meant UV puck, as in the light for a base. I’m Planning to put it on display so I’ll just use Indian tonic water with quinine and food colouring.

If you plan on drinking it You can get non-alcoholic gin these days, I tried some by Gordon’s and it’s quite refreshing.

Just trying to find a cool looking bottle.

I’m not a drinker or come from a family that does so I had no idea there was non alcoholic gin. I’m gonna try this now
