Star Trek Starfleet Uniform Material

Good evening all.
My darling wife has been teaching me to sew during the pandemic so I thought I would try my hand at making a Starfleet uniform. I've found no end of patterns and purchased a few. my major issue at the moment is getting hold of the correct material. The patterns mention Garbadine wool but being in the UK i cant seem to find it, even my local haberdasher looked at me like I'd fallen out of a tree. The closest I've got is it being a type of twill. So, my question is, what fabrics/materials are people using in the UK?

Was planning on starting with the mens duty jacket from voyager and going from there really. Maybe even try mu hand at some of the ones in Star Trek Online
