Star Trek TOS Movie Uniforms

Hey all

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to buy Star Trek uniforms from? I'm specifically looking for the movies 2-6 style. Anovos dont seem to be doing them at the moment so I'm trying to look elsewhere.

I've found one seller on Etsy who seems to do nice ones but they are pretty pricey.

I've also found the one linked below on AliExpress but having never used the site before and the price being surprisingly low I'm hesitant so I'd love either some recommendations for elsewhere or just opinions on the one below. Thanks!

As with everything you get what you pay for and that is an expensive costume to do correctly.

If all you want to do is go out for Halloween, the aliexpress may do, but for the price don't expect anything great.

if you want something Screen Accurate wait for Anovos to do them again and be prepared for a long wait

Yeah I think I will just have to wait and pay the full amount. I really do want proper quality. Although I've got to admit I'm still tempted to just buy the Aliexpress one just to see what it turned out like lol

Another way of getting an accurate Monster Maroon costume is to buy the patterns from Rodenberry.com, source the materials, and commission somebody to make it for you. It would probably cost you a lot less than the Anovos and would look just as good, provided you get the right materials. For this costume to look good, it has to be properly fitted, and made from a fairly heavy material (no cheap, thin cotton) so that it hangs right.

Thats not a bad idea actually thanks. Need to start looking for someone in the UK then that could do it to a high quality!

It's probably the most economical way of getting a quality costume. Like I said in my post, the trick is in getting the right material, you'll definitely want a uniform grade/quality material and have it tailored to you, otherwise it won't look right. I'd do a search here for Monster Maroons, I know that there's at least a couple of people who've made their own and I'm sure there's info in their posts about the kind of fabric they used.
