I purchased the Merlin Models Blockade Runner and as part of the package they included an escape pod model. The details in their cast Rigidyne Polyurethane kits are really incredible.
There aren't many parts to the kit. The body, the engine nozzles, perforated fins between the engine bells, the top of the cone, and the lid. The only details I added were the yellow wire bundles around the engines and the base. They provided an .stl for a base but I didn't care for it so I made my own.
Weathering was done with an airbrush and oils. I made the surface pits and scratches with the head of a screwdriver. I did most of it this past weekend. On to the Blockade Runner next.
EDIT: Added these as full-sized images. Just click on the thumbnails. (Previous versions were thumbnails only.)
