Tacky RTV Silicone

How do I fix tacky silicone? I am making a brush on mold of plaster sculpture I made. The first 2 layers I had no problems they cured just fine. The third layer was a bit tacky in a few spots but I didn't worry too much about it as I was doing one more layer. 24 hours after the fourth layer and it's pretty tacky. Is there anyway to fix this and any ideas what might cause this so I can avoid it in the future? This is my first attempt at making a mold.

Thank you for any assistance.

I usually just let it go for a bit more time but I've never used it to brush on. If you're in a hot area maybe the humidity is slowing it or the activator is taking longer.

You can put it in water to accelerate the process, are you sure you mixed the right ratio RTV/catalyst ?
Is your RTV new ? If it' sa bit old or have been on a retailer shelf for a while it can be a good idea to mix it thoroughly as silice can go down in the bucket. Be sure to shake te catalyst bottle too and mix both for enough time.
