The wooden ANH Graflex

Beautiful work! I'm interested in your blade rig. What's inside your blade? What does your socket look like?

I tried to DIY my own lightsaber blades for a few years and quickly realized how important material down in the handle is lol
The last pic above shows the socket, which is just a hole cut through the wood with a .75" forstner bit, and I used a .75 inch dowel (with maybe a touch of sanding) to fit snugly. Then, I just countersunk some magnets into both ends to give a little bit more of a captive experience when putting the blade in and to make sure it doesn't accidentally fly out if someone gives it a little twirl. It's actually quite solid in the socket with just the press fit friction and the magnets!

I wonder if any Jedi used wood for their lightsaber hilts?

MAGNETS that’s so creative.. yeah okay, the press fit hole and the magnets add more security. That’s fantastic

Good picture of all the youngling's lightsabers at the end of that article. :)
