So this is my second go around with building my own cosplay and I'm just making a better version of McThor which is my cross between Ronald McDonald and Thor. Yeah don't try to understand it because I have a hard to trying to myself, but hey its a ton of fun.
I figured I'd give back to the community since it has been extremely helpful to me in trying to figure out how to make all this work. I hope this thread can help others.
So heres what version one looked like

Things you might notice about it. Above the red belt the foam ripped. Also I didnt scale the armor very well as it is a bit large on me. The pants used were just rain pants. The silver circle the armor is suppose to have were way too large. Also lots of rough edges along the armor. My shin and arm guards didn't go all the way around too. Overall I was quite pleased with my first attempt at this ever.
Things I'm changing.
Chest Armor: Using thicker foam that will wrap around the whole chest and back to make it one solid piece. Making the circle pieces out of foam too and using sand paper and a dremel tool to make them right. Also using a different armor template seen here

Also I will be using a new technique I've learned that will allow the foam to flex and not crack the pant.
Shin and wrist armor: I'm going to actually build them to go all the way around this time and allow for more flexibility.
Wig: Changing that too, already got a new one and got my friend that cuts hair to make it look like Thor's look
Shoes: Original clown shoes from Party City were used and just were awful to walk around in. This time i'm getting shoes that look like that from the movie and painting them red.
Hammer: This is the only thing I'm keeping the same and just need to do some repair work to the original
Pants: I actually bought a sewing machine and reverse engineered pants in order to figure out how to make a pair of my own that would fit better and look more like what I'm looking for.
Makeup: Using Ben Nye white face paint like last time and also grabbing Wolfe's white body paint to see which works better. This time im actually gonna set the make up in with the setting spray that was recommended since last time the face make up ran quickly.
My deadline is October 9th Since the next day I will be hitting New York Comic Con for three days with two being in this costume. Check back as I will try to updating this regularly with progress and trying to answer and questions I can. Enjoy or Laugh, either is acceptable
