Toy guns that have blowback?

Does anyone know of any relatively cheap toy guns that do this when fired? I am making some student films and will have some shooting, but will be adding the flare and everything later. I just realized it makes it look super fake though without this feature...

The term is blowback, and some toy guns have it. I was able to snag an airsoft 1911 with blowback, from ebay at a decent price.

I have seen plastic guns at toy stores that have it also. They are not always available so the internetz may be your best option.

Gas driven soft-air guns usually have that action built into them, plus they look mostly real too unless you buy one with an orange barrel end. I used to have a gas driven Beretta of this style. Add some flame effects and a flying bullet casing, and it should look pretty darn good right there in a student film. Though soft-air guns are not that cheap cheap, but cheap next to a real firearm, I'll tell you that.

I've seen plastic toy guns with mechanical blowback but couldn't state a brand. I'll second DSSL's mention of gas-driven airsoft guns above. Have you seen Freddie Wong's video on sourcing prop guns for his shorts?

Do you have a dollar general near you? Last year at summer time they got in some 1911a style guns (ugly colors) for like 5.00 that had blowback and sounds. They had some smaller toy guns too that had them.

Walmart has them too, same price. BRIGHT ugly colors but I bought a few "just because". Neat features, the slide jacks back when you fire, just like a blow back, and the sound goes BANG!

BUT, get this, put the "silencer" on it and pull the trigger and it goes pewwt!

You may be able to find online reseller's that have $100 minimum orders out of City of Industry CA. Thats where I used to get $5 battery powered blowback airsoft pistols. AT one point I ended up with so many handguns I had to start giving them away.

you can do blowback in post. it happens so fast, noone will notice if its real or fake.
