I tried doing a search but found nothing on what people use for a digital ammo counter. I need one that goes from 60 down. ANyone know where I should look?. thanks.

It depends what you want the numbers to look like (I'm assuming 7 segment displays)
Also how confident you are with electronics, more specifically programming. For now lets assume you want to avoid having to program anything.

This kit looks like it should do everything you need. It actually has 4 digits, but it seems all of them are really basic with 1 digit, or more complex with 4*.

Can be set for up counting, down counting, resetting, presetting and restarting

To me that implies that you should be able to preload it with the number 60 then it will count down on each button press.

It comes as a kit, which is better if you want to install it into a gun. Or you can pay extra for pre-built.

If you give us more info on exactly what you're looking for, I can be more helpful. :)

* this kit has two digits, but doesn't allow you to preload a number, so you would have to count down from 99 each time.

You may want to look into decade counters and BCD to 7-segment decoders. It might be a little complex if you're new to electronics, but it's not impossible.

Pulse rifle,,,,,, close...

I am building a halo costume for my son. And on the QT I am building him a foam MA58 assault rifle. I was just curious about how much it I would be looking at to put a counter in it. On the game the counter goes from 60 to 0.
I will check out the links thanks.

I think the one that counts down from 99 would be a happy compromise for $15. :)
