With the duct tape. Would it be possible to get someone to draw the pattern on it while it's being worn and hasn't been cut or is it highly recommended to remove it, stuff it and make the seams from the model?

Yup! That's totally fine. The person duct taping me just wasn't very good at drawing the lines. It also helps to have an idea before drawing of how you want to assemble the pieces.

Update:

Did a little more puff-painting on the shoulders and filled the spider with silicone. Messed up a little on the legs, but it's just a test top, so no big deal.
