The impending movie, The Hobbit, has rekindled my interest and fired up a project I always wanted since I started costuming / Cosplaying in 2005; the Galadhrim Elven warrior.

Method and Materials
I have no budget and work shop AND knowledge for casting or fiberglass.
so alot will boil down to basic paper marche and foam building (which I picked up alot on my Iron Man MK VI.

Long Bow
Tested out the method of clothes hangers, foil and paper marche from jedielfqueen's site, I tested out a longbow.

Turned out ok but 30 cm too short. Will redo another one. But it set a foundation for my elven sword.

Elven Sword

Using the same method for my longbow, the sword turned quite well.

Reserved for hard armour

Helmet / Crown

One of my favorite part of the armor really. I like the shape and design.

IMG_0684.jpg

Did the base of scrap cardboard backing of some drawing blocks from my daughter.
Free handed with loads of references and I was pretty pleased as I seldom freehand and get something close enuff.

Some paper marche and layers of PVA glue later and a coat of gold paint made it look closer.

Will be doing the embossing when I get my hand on the 3D paint.....

Chest Armor
Here's from Jedielfqueen.

Using 2mm craftfoam, I free handed the pieces and glued them. Looks close enuff for me.

I'm so happy to see a resurgence of LotR costumes! This looks fantastic thus far!

Thanks for the encouragement but I am far from
Good and no where near done. But I'll work on it as it's been one of my dream
Projects which I only attempted now as I didn't have enuff experience prior.

Sad to say Lotr costuming doesnt get much fan base here in Singapore.
