Hi, i just started with the kit and i run with something weird, started with the red parts, 2 coats of primer because it didnt look right, applied the base color, but end it up a pinkish color.
Nothing even similar ever happened to me, anyone knows why?
Im now testing giving it a black coat before the primer.
Thanks

Bandai's molding process incorporates different color pieces on the same sprue.

This happened to me a few years ago while building an X-Wing as well. The problem, I found out later, was that I was using a Rustoleum white spray can that didn't cover very well. This was before I had switched over to all "modeling" paints (Tamiya, Testors Model Master, etc...) What brand of paint are you using?

Yeah, im using rustoleum grey primer
How did you solved it at the time?

I went and got myself a can of Tamiya's Fine Surface Primer. Comes in white or gray and is the best can-based primer I've used. I always keep one of each color on hand. Really good stuff.

In the 1/48 scale version, all of the red stripe areas of the X-wing are molded in red. Including the Red Five stripes on the wings.
Your right. I knew that just brain farted, duh,,, so would a silver paint cover the red?

I don't know that silver would cover very well. I primed all of my red pieces and painted them with my own red mix. You could probably cover with silver by airbrush with a bunch of coats.

I know silver is used for light blocking so it probably would cover that red plastic pretty well.
