Re: Iron Man COSTUME. TMP. Armor FINISHED Painted. Page 1.

I agree with everyone! You've outdone yourself this time. Seeing it all on you is breathtakingly awesome. Probably one of the best costumes ever seen from a fan/replica stand point....and I make costumes for a living...:) Very well done and I am very proud of you.

Also, I'm really sorry it's been so hard to get a hold of me over the last week. :( I'm in the middle of getting everything ready for Vegas and the work I'll be doing at some of the Casinos there so please.... sit tight....I'll be back to normal when I get back next week.....yea, "normal"...LOL...

Anyway, incredible costume John...everyone should own one I think!

:)

Well i hate to say it... But i belived in my mind i was 6.2 tall.. Well according to the short and old lady at the Police station i was only 184 cm tall... That makes me 6.1... I said to here something could not be right.
I needed this info for my passport renewal and she measured me... I still cant belive it... i am 1 inch to short.

My GF laught at me when se heard... She still does if i talk to someone about hight... Well OK ... I AM 6.1 tall. DAMN... Where did that tall hansom dark headed beared guy go? Well That cant be him in the mirror he is only 184 cm short.. :redface

No dobt a person 6.2 will look better in the suit. It will bring better high to the legs.
The legs are fairly long but can be shorten at the bottom. Also with the new feet it will raise the person 2-3 inches. The new feet are based of hiking boots with thick sole and higher heal.
The feet will be bigger than the robocop feet. The robocop feet are to small for a person wearing size 11 shoe size.

If memory serves me, today is the big day for you in Norway, movie officialy opens there today me thinks ? Hope things go well and you dont get to tired posing for the 40 million photos people are going to be taking of you.

Re: Iron Man COSTUME. TMP. Armor FINISHED Painted. Page 1.

Well the funny thing is that the distrebutor of movie over here talked to the studio and they got a NO GO. So they could not do any promotional features with me. They were very sorry about that, because they wanted to do something.

I could have gotten a deal with the Cinama in one of the bigger Cities but work and distance did not allow me to go. Also i had to work today so it was limited what i could do. Anyway the local TV station came by and took some photos and interwuived me. It was shown on local TV, and i belive they might show it on national TV as well. Later they want to do a bigger reportage about my costume interest in general.

I got some free tickets and the family is going tomorrow.
Today it was the first summer day with HIGH temerature and allot of sun.
I am general happy. I will se it tomorrow. It got a dice 5 of 6 from the people who seen it. So thats a good start.

Well the reviews are all coming back good, I have read about 15 so far from Empire to the Hollywood reporter. All are positive for the most part save most say " predicatble ending " Funny the Titanic had a predicatble ending as well same with "War OF Worlds" :rolleyes Anyway, yes good triumps over evil I dont think anyone was going to be suprised by that. Also the one thing most of th critics saiid was a lack of action, I think they were expecting to walk into something akin to Iron man meets Rambo with body parts flying all over ?

Cant please everyone, but the best was that all of them to a tee, as in all I have read all said the acting, character development, story line was good. They all said Robert Downey Jr was incredible.

Best I read was to the effect ( cant recall exact words) was that this was the kind of movie you could take your significant other to even if not into this type of thing, and have them walking away having enjoyed it.

So it is not going to suck, or at least not going to suck for everyone :) Good luck with the premier :thumbsup

Simply WOW!!!!! I think i am gonna cry tears of joy :cry:thumbsup(y)thumbsup:

I can't even begin to describe the admiration i have for you regarding this project. I have followed this thread for some time now and have enjoyed watching and reading the progress of the journey. Stand up and take a bow.

Seems as most of us will never have the pleasure of seeing this in the flesh let alone wearing or owning one. Is there a chance of you posting a video of it as worn? I'm sure others would love to see it in motion.

Re: Photos Of Me Wearing The Costume.

While I still think it's awesome, I can't help but notice (after going back and giving it a critical going-over) the missing collar bone struts. The silver bits are pretty striking against the rest of the suit, was there an engineering/aesthetic decision for those bits to be gone? Or has that been addressed in the 43+ page thread so far?

Neon Sentry

Going to chime in for TMP for a second till he responds.

I dont think TMP has his neck seal on in this picture you posted. Als oif you notice the 12 inch figurine that was put out at Toys R Us, it is exactly like the front of TMP's suit. No metal brackets.

Although......knowing TMP and as to his exactness, I ma sure he has this part of the armor hidden away or is being worked on.

I added this part to my armor, more so just for some extra color to break things up. Chrome looks very nice on the red and gold. :thumbsup

Good eye for detail Neon. You ever going to take me up on that job offer ? :lol

Re: Iron Man COSTUME. TMP. Armor FINISHED Painted. Page 1.

Well if you reffer to the neck "metal piston details" They are in progress of beeing made yes. However i noticed in some of the photos they are gone, then suddenly there. Regarding the piston from the shoulder to the chest as seen in one of the promoposters... Well that was CGI. i cant remeber seeing it in the movie. Therfore not added that. Regarding the neckseal. Well made up a ABS Plastic version cut it up in layers and going to atach it on a neckseal. Once atached the details will shine strong and nice and still provide movement.
The metal disc on the side of the chest. Well they are probalby in rubber component based of the LG Shots. The boots are shaping up well and will give extra high.
Also in the make are upgrade part for the shoulder for those who want a a bigger bulldog shoulder. Gloves beeing redone.

You old Dog :thumbsup I figured you would be working on it. Funny on the cnest / shoulder neck piston brackets. Sometimes you see them sometimes not. Will be very cool seeing what your upgrades look like.:thumbsup

Awesome to see you're going the extra mile to make this an impressive display!

I won't be catching the movie till tomorrow, so I can't speak for that, but I have seen the collar bone pieces in every pic so far. The first Entertainment Weekly promo shot for the cover even had one of the screws not completely set. :lol

Also, whoever was cutting/pasting that image in Photoshop needs to be fired, to think that such a slop job passed QC at any level in the chain before printing is ridiculous.

This is truly a labor of love. The whole ensemble just looks great. :D
