ALIEN ROMULUS post screening discussion

If that’s true, why were they all stored in that one room? I think they may have been bred in the facility.
Your right they where breed in the facility, as a possibility like in Resurrection people where fed to the Alien, then the huggers where incased in a sort of gel blister packs as a sort of bomb to use as weapon,, hard to know with the black cue genetics seems to make a simple idea very complex.

These are just the lines I remember being re-used:

"I prefer the term artificial person myself"
"Bring back life form, Priority One. All other priorities are rescinded."
"I can't lie to you about your chances but, you have my sympathies."
"Perfect organism"
"Busy little creatures"
And worst one of all, "Get away from her you bitch." I actually flinched at the cringiness of that one.

Imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery, it's lazy writing.

Also, a "Decommissioned" space station that just happens to be in orbit right over their heads that just happens to have what they need (exactly 5 cryo pods!) and they just happen to have a synthetic that grants them access to said station. When the gravity generators are turned on everything comes crashing to the floor and yet moments later there is a facehugger finger on a table in a glass full of fluid, papers are still on desks etc.

Apparently e-mail and the internet don't exist in this future otherwise all that priceless research done on the Xeno at Romulus Station would have been saved, transferred, copied, e-mailed to WY headquarters. And any random WY ship going to the planet could have stopped by that station at any time to check on it. They literally own the planet that it's orbiting around. It's not like they weren't coming and going on a daily basis.

The whole zero gravity sequence was pointless since as soon as they get to the elevator they turn the gravity back on and the acid eats through the hull anyway.

And don't even get me started on that abysmal 'Rook' nonsense and the Slenderman Engineer at the end.

I'll add...

What was the Big Chap from the first movie encased in, rock?or did it cocoon itself?
The kids were virtually slaves on the colony planet, yet they had access to a WY freighter that they could come and go in, with no restrictions or air traffic control?
What was the deal with Romulus/Remus? If Romulus was the administration /control side and Remus was the experimentation/breeding center as implied, why were there facehuggers stored in Romulus?
The big hole that had been burned in the floor by acid blood didn't breach the hull somehow? That was a big hole, seems unlikely the acid would have burned itself out, especially given Andy's warning about the pulse rifles.
The freighter just happened to spin out of control right into the cargo bay, with no significant damage or depressurisation of either?
The black goo has Engineer DNA? Why? Wasn't it meant to be a bio-weapon designed by the Engineers, not made out of them?
I dunno, it seems like they spent the whole time on production design then filmed a first draft of the script.

I wondered that too. It doesn't make sense in the movie as-is, but they could have fixed that plot point and avoided the stupid deepfake Rook at the same time.

The captain, the guy with the convenient ship, should have been an android. This would be revealed when Rook is a clone of him. Turns out the whole "plan" to escape the planet was a Company op to use these dumb kids as fodder to retrieve the black goo.

Exactly. So many glaring plot holes. All the blood of the Zeno's killed before they got there didn't eat a hole through the hull but as soon as they get there it becomes a problem? "Don't shoot the pulse rifles" then she proceeds to shoot 400+ rounds and it doesn't breach the hull.

Rook/MuThUr's A.I. was uploaded into Andy so why the need to resurrect Rook? (For empty crappy fan service member berries, that's why).

This could have worked way better. They could have gone with the 'I know a guy who's found this dead ship and can get us up there' route. Closes a bunch of plotholes, cool reveal when the bisected synthetic has the same face as their 'buddy' and calls back to the WY plan with the Nostromo without actually directly copying it like they did throughout the actual move.

The shape of the asteroid implied to me that it was like liquid hot metal or other material from the nostromo explosion that encased the xeno.

Well, I came here for answers, now I'm more confused, with all the plot holes!
I thought it was a better Alien film, than from the others, than they link it with Promethis, and I just can't wrap my head around the time line, and the original film.

Did they really think nobody would pay attention to all these details! I don't get it. Than Ridley Scott was involved, but how! Why did he not point these problems out!

I don't know.
As my brother stated to me. Nothing will ever top Alien, and Aliens. Beating a dead horse!

What plot holes?

The only thing that gets me was what TheMechanic mentioned on this page, the gravity on the station, when they get to the labs or white padded areas of the ship there were things sitting on tables, a beaker full of liquid with a facehugger finger in it, but perhaps the white areas of the ship are always powered on & gravity is maintained, the service areas are where the power can be switched off

Well I would have to check the years of the original, but how did they reproduce, all the face huggers? The company would have to have
known about them ahead of time. The biggest thing to me is, they have a ship, with all the Alien goodies, but they let float
in space? Than some crew, finds out, takes a ship ( nobody asking anything about! ), and gets right on board! I mean this company,
has been wigging out about this stuff, and they just leave a ship floating in space? There are a few other small things, I can't remember,
I have to sit down and think about it!
Oh, how did the Alien get fossilized? I guess it's possible for it to survive the engine blast, from it's tough exterior. The Alien baby, which
is just opinion, looked horrible!

There wouldn't have been anything left of the Nostromo after a series of 3 thermonuclear explosions. And why would Big Chap be anywhere near the wreckage anyway? Just so many plot contrivances in this movie.
