Amazing collections and display ideas

Here is my collection, with two alternate displays on the one shelf, either Kenner or helmets. Most of my stuff is still in storage (1000’s of action figures and dozens of props) or not on display, suck as my Capt. Jack Sparrow costume, Stormtrooper, Mando costume, etc.

New house, new display!

Well, it was all packed away for almost 8 years but finally got most of my stuff back out on display and thought I would share a couple pics.

Runner - I dig your McQuarrie art! Are they lithographs? And is that a mirror behind your tauntan? That is a fantastic display case. I am planning a similar build.

Thanks. I’m pretty happy with how it’s turning out. Those are the Willitts lithos with light up film cells that I always try to display when I set my stuff up. I was given one years ago as a gift and I decided to hunt down the entire set. Luckily when I did there wasnt a lot of demand for them so I got the all at a reasonable price. You can still find them on eBay but they are up there in price now. Somewhere in the $300 range depending on which one. The Tauntaun case is just a mirrored case I originally had made for my Vader. Basically an oversized football helmet case.

Those are 2 Besta units on each end with a 9 cubby Kallax attached in the middle. I wanted to do Bestas across the entire wall but to get enough to fit all my helmets it would have been way too tight. The Kallax is the compromise even though I do find them a bit tight looking.

Getting them hooked together was super easy. If you get the raised feet for the Besta they come with a bracket that sticks out allowing you to secure another Besta beside it sharing the one set of feet. I just plopped a Kallax on top of the bracket and secured them together from the sides.

if you notice, each cubby has a protective front? Those are from Wicked Bricks over in England. They make Lego display stuff and have a system for adding plexiglass display fronts and backs to Kallax and Detolf IKEA units among other things.

I have one of those, the Cantina art, which is my all time favorite McQuarrie art. I looked them up recently on ebay and was shocked what they're going for now! I've resorted to getting some loose pieces from the McQuarrie portfolios for $9 or so and framing them. I really wish I had gotten a few others back when they first came out!

Love that PotC Stuff. Is the chalice the Yahtzee version? And I still regret that I don't buy that Davy Jones chest, when I had the chance... One of my favorite pieces from the movie... Congrats, great collection...

The Jones chest is budget version as well! During the 2020 pandemic I worked from home, and got back on a POTC kick (after a 8 year hiatus). I decided I wanted the Master Replicas chest, so I started looking through listings. It was way too expensive, but I found something that is “close enough.” That chest is actually a CD player! The key hole area has the buttons on it and stuff, but they’re not very noticeable. For $20, it’s good enough for me!

I sometimes watch the chalices on eBay, but they are always located in the US, so shipping is always very expensive. And here they were never available.

I know the CD Player, saw it years ago at toys r us, but decided that is it too much work to make a nice looking replica of it. I hope that someone makes a resin or 3d printed replica in close future for a decent price...
