Andor 'Aldhani' Macrobinoculars

My go at the Macrobinoculars as seen so far in Andor. From the most recent episode I discovered that it does not have the riveted plate on the bottom. Built around a Bell & Howell Sportster IV with my own set of 3D printed parts.

Looks great! I accidentally bought the model without the tri-lens turret, but I think I’ll mod it into an in-universe “other model”. Is there a way to purchase your part files?

Thank you.

I am not selling the files because the rear viewing hood meeds some manual work on it to make it fit the body properly but I have sold one complete set of greebles/parts to someone. I charged him $50 + shipping. PM me if you are interested.

My day job is making large format analogue cameras- as a result I spend a lot of time around real photography enthusiasts.

I started to design a file of the macro binoculars seen on Aldhani in the latest episode of Andor before I realised I was probably looking at a found part.
A quick bit of research later and I think I've found the camera model- a Bell & Howell Zoomatic!
Hopefully I don't jade the photography crowd by encouraging prop makers to destroy vintage cameras...

Great work!

Right, now I've got two of these Macrobinoculars as seen in Andor. The one on the left is still for sale: Star Wars - Andor Aldhani macrobinoculars

I have also sold 3 sets of the greeblies if anyone is interested in a set.

I will probably make the version from the Last Jedi if I can find another donor camera.

Hey, I know I'm late to the party, but do you have any greeblie sets left? I'm working on converting one of these for a movie I'm working on.

Thanks,
Nathan

With major thanks to Richard (mabbog) for offering up a greeblie kit and including some excellent advice with it, I’ve just finished a set of these — my first ever prop build! I took elements I liked from both the Last Jedi & Andor versions and gave it my own spin. My lovely wife came up with a pretty ingenious overlay for the screen Robert sent me that she made with some dyed Vellum paper.

I’m working on a not-for-profit Star Wars film and these will be used by a character on screen. Quite happy with how they turned out and feeling confident to tackle some other things that just a few months ago, I might’ve had commissioned instead.

This forum is such a great resource. Appreciate you guys!

All the best,
Nathan

Just scored a director’s series with a tri lens, would greeblie kits still be for sale? Thanks!
