" Anodized" Paint on Captain America Shield

Wanna use the duplicolor metalcast anodized colors on an aluminum cap shield so the spun metal look will show through but I'm worried about the paint coming off if I don't use a primer. Any clear primer suggestions that won't dull the finish of the aluminum?

You're good. Duplicolor sticks great to raw aluminum. Wipe the whole shield with acetone to remove grease first.

What if you didn’t want a glossy finish, but more of a hard anodized “Matte Finish” look? Could you put a matte clear coat on top? Or just use a different paint entirely?

Yeah, that's all in the choice in your clear coat.

Ok perfect! That’s exactly what I’m going for. I want more of a Civil War/ Endgame look to mine as opposed to a glossy First Avenger look. Also: what kind of clear coat did you use on top of the Metalcast?

I used Rustoleum matte clear enamel

Just finished mine, Metalcast paint and Krylon ColorMaxx Satin finish.
