Attaching buttons to Korbanth Graflex for stunt Saber

I recently purchased a Korbanth Graflex 2.0 and I want to use it as a display item. Here's the issue. I want to attach the red button on the bunny ears side, and have it depress like a real button, but I have no plans to install any electronics. What is the best way to set the button in there? Glue? What about attaching the button to the electronic switch? I have set it up in Force Awakens configuration with the glass eye.

You can glue the electronic switch into the chrome bezel from the top, then a bit of glue on the underside of the button in the dimpl to secure the button onto the stem of the switch. That way you still get a button that depresses.
