Bandai 1/72 PG Millennium Falcon (also the Revell Germany rebox)

I saw a couple of 300 quid ones on ebay recently... I got mine for 290 a year ago... most places have it around 350+ now...

Hey Guns, where did you get yours? Prices seem to have gone a little crazy for the Real perfect grade version.

Big Bad Toy Store had a special sale this past August, $239 + $4 for shipping. Yes, you heard that right. I lucked out and happened to find the heads-up on a FB group. Glad I did!

PS: I don't know what constitutes the "Real" PG Falcon, but this baby came with the lighting kit. Not that is matters, because I plan on installing my own lighting.

Thanks. I don't consider the other version an option, because of the lack of water-slide decals.

Eventually, I'll paint the support rod a bluescreen blue color. I know some of you likely think I'm crazy for modifying the gunport to remove the Bandai gunport, but I will be able to display the model with the lower gun in place. Like on the 5-footer, I added brass pegs to the gun mount that correspond to the holes in the lower hull. The lower gun now snaps into position nicely.

How did you separate the gun mount from the base? I presume the piece in the lower hull that this attaches to is the gun mount base?

I'm sure it has been asked, and I just missed it, but has anyone done a paint guide for archive X paints yet? specifically,
1. which colors for which panels, guns, landing gear, etc....
2. all the color layers to get the blacks and greys showing where there is damage
3. black or grey primer
4. how to do the staining
things like that I'd really like to see. I just don't want to ruin this thing. I've ordered archive x paints, (except engine black out of stock)
any help, links, anything will be appreciated.

Just for fun. Lots of interesting things here. Hopefully the animated gif shows up for you. Otherwise, nothing interesting.

Here's my Falcon...I swiped out the Empire Strikes Back Cockpit interior for the Miniatures Interior.
The second and third Pictures are comparison shots with the 5' Filming miniature.
I used my last batch of Floquil Reefer White,Grime and several other colors.
The other colors were mixed to match the original as closely as possible.

How do you illuminate this incredible small coughtries?

Good question. :) Well, basically I've devised a truly stupendously awesome way of lighting backlit cockpit panels, etc. And it also works really well to illuminate these wall sconces. I'll be putting more information up about how this works soon. Waiting for a delivery from the factory!
