BANDAI Gets Star Wars Licence

Just looked at Bandai's x-wings and ties. Why can't any of these producers get it right? Personally, I intend on passing this up and investing in some thing worth while, like a new Iwata.

The Stardestroyer looks like "copy" (upscale ?) of the Anigrand Resin kit !

Wow, they do look identical. Didn't anigrand create his from some "co-opted" 3-d files? This may have been grown from the same 3-d file source

Yep. Like I said, probably just a conversation piece, and not indicative of a product.

Mmm...the article specifically mentioned a Star Destroyer, though it did not state the scale, which means it's probably not finished....

It's interesting that they're keeping the same scales as FM for the X-wings. But for all I know, it's part of their license....

But as soon as they come out, someone will have a side-by-side comparison with the FM X-wings. Then we'll see.

I do like their Death Star tile bases, though it looks like that's only for the small ones.

Dear Bandai, please, please mold the X-wing canopy frames separate from the canopy glass!

No, it says "Included are the following ... Star Destroyer...."

And what the hell is that Space Warp thing? Is that just a marble game? Why?

Because Bandai makes toys as well as model kits. In fact, they make toys for Disney, which I'm guessing is why they now have a license to produce Star Wars merchandise and Fine Molds won't after their current licensing deal expires.

A 1/1 concept model for R2? It looked vac formed. That would be a cool model, front and a back half!

I'd be surprised if they made one that big. I would rather have one in scale with the Revell Venator, which I think is 1/2256(?).

At least Bandai knows what makes fans excited by showing an SD mockup. If their kits are successful (duh!) we will probably see a smaller SD and other ships down the road.

Falcon! Falcon! Wish Bandai would read the 5-foot threads. And they should at least get the Bandai kitbash parts right :)

....pure optimism......with the new Ep7 & The Falcon being in it.....i'd say they are holding off a Falcon kit till closer to the release of the movie,....& the ships included in it....that probably why they're releasing Original Trilogy X wings & TIES now

I'm just hoping that the Ep7 Falcon is based more on the 5 ft model than the 32",....that way we'll have an alternative to the FM kits
