Blade Runner Inspired Office Build: Deckard's Apartment

The cluttered look perfectly captures the actual set. Fantastic.
Speaking of clutter... I still feel like it needs more. Here's a random pile of books. I found the last one I'd been hunting.

Crazy impressive. I was happy just to acquire all the whiskey glasses from 2049. My thing is mostly vintage and movie lighters so how about a lighter salute the old fashioned way (instead of these terrible iPhone versions kids use at concerts today) using Rachel's own lighter I acquired after that unfortunate incident in 2021. It only gets lit on special occasions.

I got the lamp shade hydro-dipped to create a marbled look. Very difficult to match the colors and pattern exactly but I think it looks the part and definitely looks better than without it. Overall I’m happy with it until such time as I can have a real one made (not likely) or come up with a better solution.

Getting Sean Young (still not bad looking) to come and visit would improve the room for me (I doubt his wife would appreciate that, though). ;)

Maybe if you could get Harrison Ford over too? :D

Oddly enough, he has family really close to where I live and flies in occasionally. It would be cool to get him to make a 5 minute trip but that'll never happen.

Wow! What a year! My wife's health has drastically improved, thanks to getting her DMT (disease-modifying-therapy) dialed in, and her diligence in walking with me EVERY night. The immensely terrifying issues my son has been going through the past 3 years was suddenly, completely, and permanently resolved in the best way we could have hoped for on October 16th. The frequent intense anxiety and panic attacks I started having in May because of what he was going through are all but non-existent now. We're all 3 happier and healthier, and just all around higher functioning with the massive weight lifted.
We have decluttered the house and invested time and energy into making it cute, cozy, and comfortable.
Here's January 1, 2023 vs. January 1, 2024.

It was a LOT of work (and I still have quite a bit of work left before it's finished) but I've loved every minute of it so far and am really enjoying the space much more.
Thanks for all the encouragement and feedback along the way. And a Happy New Year to everyone!

The space is beautifil, but the real gem is the improvement in quality of life to enjoy it with, and the joy of the project. Hopefully all these glad tidings are a portent for the rest of 2024.
