Thanks, I hollowed out the backside of the head. Drilled a vertical hole up to the head for wires. Once the led and wiring where in place and tested I sculpted a new back of the head to seal it all in and hide the work. The figure was white resin so after it was painted I just ran a number 11 blade around the face. It removed just enough paint to reveal the light when it is on but not enough to see where it comes from when the light is off. The white resin acts as a diffuser but still kept the light blue.
I have no experience in studio model building, But being a huge Battlestar fan I have to say that this is one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen!
