Buckaroo Banzai - Red Lectroid Mask

Hey folks. Long time lurker, first time poster.

Thought I'd share my one screen-used prop. Sadly, I wish it were more presentable.

This is a Red Lectroid mask from one of my all-time favorites, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.

As you can see, it has deteriorated severely since production of the film in '83-'84. I also had a matching pair of Red Lectroid "hand" gloves that were rotted beyond recognition.

A buddy of mine met one of the screenwriters of the film down in Florida and mentioned what a huge fan I was. The guy dug around his house and sent the mask and gloves back for me.

I don't know if any others are surviving (hell, this one barely is), as the foam rubber used has a pretty crummy shelf life.

Thought I'd share.

X2, might be worth reaching out to Tom and see what magic he could do and restore that.

Thanks for the advice folks! I'd love to have this re-done when I've got the means to do so. BB was a big part of my childhood.
