That looks incredible! You're doing an incredible job and those additions look awesome. The scale of that kit is impressive.

Here is the new design of the ship parts. After building the first two you are able to see better ways and easier ways of building the model.
King Bob who made these kits has modified the top of the hull of model to be fitted last giving you lots of access to add all your power requirements LED'S and Fiber optic connections with in the top section of the hull.

So I am thinking now of building a third one just to give the new design ago.

in creased some of the lines while masking.
Lots of gloss coated to hold the tape in place and to prevent bleeding under the tape.

Because I am using the natural finish of the printing the tape will have to sealed to stop the bleeding.

This thread is a great example of how to mix different 3D printing technologies and scratch building.

Great model! I have been drawing and FDM printing models for a while. Recently I started using a resin printer, was amazed by the detail and 'smoothess' of the surfaces..

A good thing regarding the Babylon 5 Earth alliance ships is that having the print lines adds to the over all look of the ship. The two ships have really knocked it out of the park when it comes to a fully 3D printed kit. It goes to show with a little know how you can design a very user friendly product that you go wild with LED's and Fiber optics to make your model pop.

Well even the best of us can make a mistake, I fitted the wrong LED to the side lights warm white instead of bright white,

Engine Failure!!!

It happens to the best of us, we check all the way through the build that the lighting we have added works.
Then once you fit the model to it stand and you connect the wiring you find out that one of the LED's is out not working and it is looking like a 3 eyed monster taunting you.
Lucky with this build I didn't glue closed the engine section only attaching it with 4 screws allowing access to the wiring in the engine.

I had to break off the engine tube and lathe out the glued in LED light and now fitting the new LED back in place.

Still in repair mode I made a plug to reconnect the motor tube to the housing.

IMG_6389.jpg

Then tested another LED and inserted it into the engine tube fitting the plug be hind it.

IMG_6391.jpgIMG_6392.jpg

I had to re drill out the hole to the correct size in the engine bay area to allow the plug to be refitted into place.

IMG_6393.jpg

The next step will be to attach the engine into the bay and re connect the Led and re test the lighting.

All repaired and ready to go.
EAS TITAN i am calling it finished. Just need to glue some felt onto the bottom of the base so I don't scratch the furniture.
The camera dose over expose the lighting.

Just one more to finish. EAS FOXFIRE.

Not familiar with the show this is from, but that’s a beautifully detailed and finished model. Congrats !
Thanks for sharing this build mate, but I can’t help wondering how your Star Destroyer is going too ?:p;)
