As a "replica" prop stand point.... the helmet does look fine....as an original production prop standpoint.it ....it is not fine.....if the seller listed it as a replica then it would be fine......he or she is listing it as an original production helmet used as a director's test screening helmet.
This thread was made over a year ago to help out members be aware of what items they are purchasing...several sellers try to mislead the buyer by saying it is production made to gain a higher bid or higher price for an item. It happens a lot in the finhead community as well as other prop communities. A fellow finhead purchased a replica helmet at an auction for over $3,000.....ouch!!!!
The helmet was advertised as screenused etc etc...even came with a COA......
Keep in mind....the price it is at now will not remain that way...with people bidding at the last few seconds would drive the price up...Knowledge is everything in bidding........ if the buyer knew it is just a replica then he or she will bid reasonable price... buyers are being mislead that it was production used.... so they think the value is greater than it really is.
look at the first post in this thread...a replica helmet being sold as a potential production helmet...sold for 355.00...the helmet is awful....for a cheaper price or same price..the buyer could had purchased a better helmet like yours or an acme helmet....maybe the possibility of it being a production helmet enticed the buyer to purchase it....losing 355.00 for a crummy helmet sucks.....but losing thousands of dollars which is the going rate for production items is damaging
i would hate to see a fellow finhead get ripped off.....it happens......so i try to prevent it by informing fellow members
Good deal!
