Cal Kestis Split Saber Build

Hello fellow Star Wars geeks and lightsaber enthusiasts,

Just posting another build of mine. Got the Korbanth/ 89 sabers Cal Kestis and Cere Junda hilt few months back and quite dissapointed that in the end, the finish product is just basically a staff without any splitting mechanism. So, I have been tinkering how can I make the splitting mechanism works out until I cam across the hose connector at the hardware store .

Henceforth, I redesigned some the middle coupler and have them machined to fit the hose connector. Now, I have a proper split saber. Altough, I would still need some advice on the wrapping. Leather seems to be out of option since its too thick and there is no way to achieve the game likeness with leather.

That's a pretty good idea and implementation! I am not sure what the in game saber looks like, but you can get pretty thin leather, or skive it yourself.

I was thinking cloth type wrap. I believe it would be just easier to get the in game likeliness with that. Anyone would recommend a suitable cloth wraps for that? Game reference photo is attached.
