Cloud City Lando Comlink Run

Hey guys update! I am finally starting to assemble and paint these. The paint by far has been the most challenging. The photo in the archive prop book is completely different from the archive photos I have seen as well as the screen images. I did many many tests and samples and I did settle on a color which is a blend of 3 different colors. When the light hits it, it should have a decent shine and lightness to it and when shaded should be much darker. I believe there is a subtle metallic sheen to it and that it is not a flat matte color. Also getting the decals going as well. The rubber which I might add was very difficult to find in the exact size I needed but I finally have it as well. The decals won't have a clear film over them its only their to confirm the sizing and placement. They will be individual tiny letters. Also the bezel with the decals is just for sampling, the color is wrong on that one.

Ok, I just need to finish the top cap piece and some subtle weathering. A lot of the paint spots you see on the available archive photo comlink do not appear on screen. As most of the props I've seen in the archives have odd paint markings on them or in other cases are almost unrecognizable. Im sure they were added on either on purpose or accidentally post filming, however I'm building these according to how they appear on screen. The weathering will be subtle on these comlinks.

Thanks you guys! The stand is in production as well. My wife Julie is designing it and I think it will really add to and make this prop stand out with a proper display stand.

Display stand update! This is our comlink display stand prototype. The clear acrylic support arm will remain as seen here, the base will be solid resin. We have to re-cut some pieces and do some cleanup before making the base mold.
For those who might not know what the stand base is, it is the decorative design that is on the doors to the dinner scene with Vader on Cloud City. We thought it would be a fun little easter egg to incorporate into the stand that wouldn't take away from the comlink being displayed. We wanted to reach out and get a head count of everyone who will want one of these so we aren't wasting material. The cost will be $35 or $40 please let us know and thank you everyone for all of your kind words.
