I mean, I see the silver section but ...

thd9791 Well there is silver back there as well. It’s made up from two parts. Maybe ur seeing the silver bleed into the bronze as the prop is moving onscreen. Screen grab creates a blurry image?

Yea I was trying to find evidence of this optical illusion :D

towards the bottom of the spacer the silver area gets wider it seems

I still think it's a cross-section of copper pipe that's pressure fit in there, and that silver ring is where it's bowing out/digging in from being tightened.

Buying up some raw material today to attempt this blaster - guys I think the disc is smaller than the spacer, and the two are lined up at the bottom of the blaster. Check out the straightest dead-on Al Roker shot...bottom of both line up, but the spacer is almost 1/8" taller than the disc. my guestimations put the spacer around 1.125", which would make the disc around an inch

If u put stock in what someone saw in person then yes the disk is smaller. It’s all we really have to go by until Lucas opens his museum and puts all these props on display. Honestly thd9791 you should really go back a search out what was written about this blaster if your planning on building it. A lot of great info was passed on and it will give you a great head start. Otherwise it’s hard to just rely the Al photos and film grabs. This is an overexposed pic (with mount and disk itself not exposed) that may help u in your quest..

Ooof! Admittedly, this makes my blood boil. Sure, it's cool that it's a live-fire and I'm sure it was expensive to acquire/convert, but why go through that effort for something so inaccurate? I'm sure whoever bought this is very happy with it because they just don't know, but it's irksome that someone would make such grandiose claims of accuracy when it's so obviously wrong. At least they can swap out the grips and scope and get it looking a bit closer, should they ever decide to actually look at a photo?

Was there ever a consensus on whether the Hoth DL-44 was painted or not? I’ve seen replicas with the lower painted only and ones where it’s all painted?
