Do regular people recognize your Wested?

I've had my Wested for almost ten years now. It looks more "Indy" than ever, but no, no one has recognized it as such.

A few years ago, I did wear the whole ensemble for Halloween though, and had people going out of their way to come tell me how awesome they thought it looked. I think people subconsciously recognize the whole costume as being "right" when you have gear that's close to the original. Part it out and wear it however, they'd never know.

'strue.

The only part of the costume which instantly jumps out at people as 'Indy' is the hat.

Nope, not one person. Wear it regularly out to work and play and no one notices. Like mentioned before, it's not that different than other leather jackets to regular folks.

The only time has been when I was also wearing the fedora. Still, he was quite taken by the jacket and might have still recognized it, given his reaction.

I have seen other westeds out there, but no one call mine out. Both times, I saw the westeds in Disneyland, and yes, they were true Westeds not Disney's poor rendition.

I have had two "Indy" jackets.
The first was the one Lucasfilm sold I guess not long after Last Crusade came out. Anyone ever buy that one? Sold it after I got my Wested. So I think that would be like 18 years off and on I have been wearing one.

Maybe the new movie will bring some comments though.

We shall see.

I've worn mine a couple of times, but no one has picked up on it.

Thats alright though... nothing wrong with flying under the radar. :cool

Yeah, I like the stealth stuff, too. I used to wear my Luke ESB jacket on occasion, and no one recognized it. Some even liked it, including my now-ex-wife...until I told her what it was. Then she didn't. :rolleyes

I'm in central Florida, where it's usually WAY too warm to wear mine... HOWEVER, that doesnt really stop me :lol

That being said, the only people who recognize my Wested for what it is are friends that have prior knowledge of it.
