Doctor Who on SciFi?

Re: Dr Who on SciFi?

Good, those ****ing ******** on the syphillis channel don't deserve having it. Rot in hell you bastards.

...sounds like you are upset about something - need to see a Doctor? Err, I mean Dr. ? Or is it Dr ?

I hate what the current management has done to the SCIFI channel. Wrestling and morons looking for ghosts isn't science fiction. It's ****, and it's not worth watching.

Re: Dr Who on SciFi?

So this is pretty safe? Never heard of it before...
From the sounds of it, no it isn't safe. If you give it a try run it in a sandbox. I'm going to give it a whirl with a live distro of linux later. I'm still very leery about this applet it launches.

I really wish that SyFy would get there head out of A** and show the Doctor Who series again I'm still confused how they could even dare stop showing it. I know that we finally got the BBCAmerica but it was better when you didn't have to pay even more money to get the extra channel

Probably because BBC as the owners of the property would rather broadcast it on their own network and make ad revenue off that than farm it out to SyFy for whatever licensing rights bring in.

Speaking of BBC-A, they should rename the station to The Top Gear channel, because it seems like that's all they like to play! Seriously though, everytime I browse past the BBCA station on my TV, all I ever see is back to back to back episodes of Top Gear, with some Doctor Who occasionally thrown in there and if its early enough in the day, Chef Ramsay antics.
There are a lot of really great shows from the BBC that I would love to see aired here in the states - like The IT Crowd for one...and bring back Mr. Bean!!

All the Dr Who threads have me wondering... when is Dr Who going to be on SciFi again? It seems like it's been two years since it's been on TV here in the States.

I'm not into torrents, and don't get the BBC. Is there another way to watch this series?

It won't be back on SyFy. I think they lost the license.

Many of the series have been released on Netflix Instant View. Even the first 2 seasons of Torchwood were just released this past week.

Actually, Torchwood's been on Netflix Instant for some time now, as have all of the seasons of new Who except, I think, Season 6.0.

Oh and as far as the original question, I don't think The Doctor will be back on SciFi...er...SyFy.

I think they lost the license or something and now it's just BBC America.

And once again, ninjavideo.net. They have all the new Who, right up to The End of Time, Part Two (though only season 3 of Torchwood and no Sara Jane Adventures).

Don't. Don't bother with that stuff. Netflix Instant is WELL worth it, and virus free. Look into it. There's a TON of stuff on there you might like, including the new Camelot series from Starz, Torchwood, Primeval, all the Star Trek shows, tons of Anime, Spartacus (both seasons), etc. For $8 a month it's better than cable.

Yeah, part of the reason for BBC-A to do things like set the opening of Season 6 in the U.S. and do the split season has to do with the move to solidify the property on BBC-A. They won't be giving it up any time soon.

I tend to find it more the Top Gear/Ramsey channel. Any time my Tivo records Doctor Who, I inevitably turn on the TV a day or two later and it's one of those two shows on. Without fail.
