I'm excited to finish this one...it's in silicone in my basement. Just waiting for warmer weather to make the fiberglass mothermold...

Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics update 1st page

Wow! how did I miss this? Great sculpt! One of my favorite interpretations of one of my favorite film characters. I'll definitely be looking for that junkyard thread. I only wish someone would do the whole armor set. I need a second Vlad look...

Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics update 1st page

First of all I know diddly about sculpting. However I would think this would be one of the most insanely hard sculpts to do. Keeping all those lines straight and then matching the right side to the left just seems like it would be crazy hard. Am I right? If so, how do you do it?

AWESOME WORK!

Stare into the edge of madness until there's no turning back. There you will find that sanity is a lost cause. You will find solace in the fact that only the insane master the insanely cool art! :thumbsup

QFT! :lol

Great sculpt, you've done an amazing job so far.

Can't wait to see one finished!

Re: Dracula Helmet WIP pics update 1st page

Something about that armor always unnerved me, something about the design. Yours is already having the same effect. Cheers!

Re: Dracula Helmet 1st cast pics pg.3

Pulled the first cast today and it came out pretty well. This is rotocast, but if I do more, I'm leaning towards red gelcoat and fiberglass. Still have to sculpt and mold the lobstertail.

Thanks again for all the compliments, I'm pretty excited about this so far.

Re: Dracula Helmet 1st cast pics pg.3

It does look ace, and I totally agree with the previous poster about there being something unnerving about this armour. I can't really put my finger on it, it's the 'organic' look, I think. You captured it really well, in any case!
