ESB Bladed Stunt Graflex Lightsaber "The Core!"

Yes! The Antique Gold. I do have that, and tried it, but I found another color I like a little more than that. I'll find that and post the info for it, as well!

Okay, here you go. For the Hero, I like Rust-Oleum "Satin Bronze".

The Ace brand copper I just tried on the V3 that I liked more than everything else I've tried, is simply called "Copper". Ha!

Here it is next to the Antique Gold

One copper that I really liked, but it's REALLY old, from 2004, and won't spray very well anymore.

I've also tried this, but didn't like it.

And I've yet to try the other Rust-Oleum, second from the left.... It's called "Metallic Vintage Copper" 248637

neat! Rustoleum is always a little too silver for my liking. What was your experience with the ace copper? Also, the universal rustoleum looks textured, what was that like?

This is super neat, never chatted with anyone over this but I went through a lot of experiments myself. Rose Gold was something I sponged over black to get the ANH neck color on Obi Wan's stunt sabers.

The brassy (satin bronze) Rust-Oleum is NOT textured. I love it. In my eyes, it's the perfect color for the Hero neck. It's funny because I originally bought it for tank scopes, to go under the black, or to dry brush on top.

The Ace Copper is pretty dang good. I'm using it for my V3. I'll get some pics for you tomorrow.

Ah! Ace copper below and rustoleum satin bronze on the hero?!

I wasn't waiting on you - I picked up a couple more scott ski poles at a local goodwill and have been avoiding testing the roll of fabric. I just can't picture the 2D pattern/template for wrapping a pole, with a taper, like giftwrap. three people have given me tips but my brain is stuck on this one.

I got the Chinese fabric on its way, I got you ;)

Yessir, that's correct!

These are the best colors I've found so far.

Man, I haven't even tried to make a stunt blade, so I wish I could help!

EDIT: thanks Danny!!

They are beautiful paint jobs - that rustoleum looks NOTHING like that can. great for us!

as for the fabric, best I've pictured is wherever the taper starts (ski poles, halfway down, golf clubs at the bottom) you cut basically a triangle side leading from one end to the other, when usually you cut rectangular shapes for cylinders. hard to explain -

Sounds about right. Do you have paper you can do test patterns with? Something like newsprint that's not precious so you can work out the kinks before going to fabric?

oh my god, I'm hitting up the dollar store thats a great idea!

Make sure it’s a heavy duty, brown package wrapping (though usps doesn’t like packages wrapped in it anymore) also is a cheap alternative for template paper

Tom did your fabric come folded up?

I was wondering if you used a iron to get the folds and wrinkles out? If so did you iron the reflective side? Or the non reflective side?

Mine did come folded up, in one less fold. surprisingly I haven't had a problem yet. I've been cutting 3" width by (insert length) " rectangles and haven't had the folds come out. that being said, I've successfully wrapped 1 pole and got wrinkles all over it lol

Don’t forget to share those pics! Practice makes perfect, I’m going to try ironing it and see what happens

After 3 tries I learned how to wrap the Chinese fabric. The bushing is so long because I estimated that would help with stress at the joint for the fragile graphite stick? Need shorter set screws too20190405_130239.jpg 20190405_130314.jpg 20190405_130328.jpg 20190405_130356.jpg 20190405_130419.jpg 20190405_130448.jpg 20190405_130542.jpg
