When you've had somone die in an accident, it no longer becomes a laughing matter. So, guess what, I'm not going to lighten up. Maybe some of you need to grow up and quit acting like little kids.

Just because a bunch of you think its funny doesn't make it funny and just because some of us don't think its funny doesn't make it not funny. If you don't like it that I don't like it, too freacking bad, I'm not going to change what I think about this or any other thread that pokes fun at someone else like this.

I've known at least 5 people that died in accidents... I'm not trying to change your view at all... I'm calling you a hypocrite.

I found it mildly amusing at best. I just think if you go through life being offended by stuff like this you are likeley to give yourself a coronary.

I actually find 'morgue humour' the easiest way to vent over all the horrors in the world. A lot of the casual racism that crops up on here offends me, but I try not to get bent out of shape about it.

Life's too short.

And before someone tries to call me out.... I've been in some bad car accidents in my life.. I've been hospitalized and gone through over a year of physical therapy due to some HORRID drivers ..... and guess what? I laughed.

I lost my leg in a freak train accident when I was 20. And I'm the first to crack wise about it to get people to lighten up who may be uptight when meeting me and asking what happened. They appreciate that I am as open and willing to relax about it. I don't let "gimp" or disabled jokes offend me either.

Laughter is a great release, especially in stressful situations.

I guess some people are just more uptight about these things than other people.

Those that didn't find this amusing however, catch yourself next time you find yourself chuckling at "misfortune humor" in movies or shows like "*******" and then reprimand yourselves for us.

Those people do that idiotic stuff on purpose- none of the people involved in that car accident wanted that to happen.

I don't find stuff like "*******" amusing either anyway. Maybe I'm old.

Listen if it was a clip of a car accident where it was clear that no one was hurt- I could "get" the humour here.

That white Xterra careened across 5 lanes of 70 MPH traffic to avoid an ***** who cut the driver off and miraculously came to a relatively soft landing at the divider, right in front of me. If I hadn't been looking in her direction as she lost control in time to brake or if it was night time, my fate might have been just like that first car in the YouTube video.

The driver of the Xterra wasn't hurt, but she was so badly shaken up, she had wet herself, and went into shock, even though she wasn't physically hurt. I had my hazard lights on and also put out 2 flares I had in the trunk until the highway patrol cruiser showed up, but this was the fast lane, so anything could have happened.

So I agree that the video was in very poor taste, and any backpedaling or projection is rather pathetic. :thumbsdown

How do you know anyone was hurt ?
Me i'd find it to be poor taste if the opposite was the case and that it was clear that someone was seriously injured or killed, but it's not so i'm not.

I'm with everyone on the not funny part though, not because it's offensive it's just not funny you must try harder OP

I'm not backpedaling and I don't feel I need to apologize for other people's delicate sensibilities.

I like gallows humor and I find it amusing to be lectured on "poor taste" by a member who's avatar used to be a bright light coming out from between a woman's spread legs as she was giving birth lol. Seems you've had a brush yourself with others giving you grief for "poor taste", no?

That's okay, it didn't offend me nor would I have judged you for it nor labeled you as "pathetic" because it didn't conform to my world view.

I bet if you had your leg you would be kicking yourself now....:lol I am truly joking and get your point. I have been on several accident scenes as a volunteer and I can only speak from my own experience that most of the officers and firefighters that I have worked with have a very dark sense of humor.
